NACE International Institute changes exams from pen-and-paper to computer-based with Pearson VUE

BLOOMINGTON, MN, Jan. 5, 2017 – The NACE International Institute has entered into a new partnership with global computer-based testing (CBT) provider Pearson VUE.

The new agreement will convert the NACE Institute’s suite of corrosion engineer certification exams from pen-and-paper to CBT. The exams will be delivered at Pearson VUE’s network of over 5,000 test centers worldwide.

NACE Institute has also employed Pearson VUE’s Exam Developer™ product, a highly secure web-based program that allows collaboration with subject matter experts and content management throughout the exam development cycle.

“We chose Pearson VUE to help us move from pen-and-paper because they offer the highest level of expertise and the widest test center coverage,” said Helena Seelinger, Executive Director of the NACE International Institute. The testing and certification process will be more efficient and serve our candidates better now that we have made this change.”

Bob Whelan, managing director of Pearson VUE, said: “I am delighted that NACE chose to enter into this agreement with Pearson VUE. Transitioning these exams to CBT will provide NACE members with a better testing experience. Candidates will now be able to book their test online, on-demand and take the test at their local Pearson VUE testing center.”
