South Dakota Division of Insurance enters computer-based testing agreement with Pearson VUE


MINNEAPOLIS, MN, Jan. 25, 2018 – The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation, Division of Insurance has selected Pearson VUE, the global leader in computer-based testing, as its new test development and delivery vendor.

Beginning in 2018, Pearson VUE will provide examination services on behalf of the Division for the purposes of testing candidates for licensure in the following areas: Life, Accident & Health or Sickness, Casualty, Property, Personal Lines, Crop, and Bail Bonds.

“We are pleased to be working with one of the leading insurance test delivery providers to publish and administer our exams,” said Larry Deiter, director of the South Dakota Division of Insurance. “Pearson VUE's test center network and impressive content development capabilities will help ensure that the Division of Insurance is able to offer high-quality exams to prospective licensees at convenient locations throughout the state of South Dakota and around the country.”

Pearson VUE was awarded the contract to develop and administer the Division's examinations following a competitive bid process. Critical to the Division's selection process were bidders' expertise in developing exams that meet national and state-specific insurance content standards, experienced resources to perform the work, and a quality record of past performance in other states.
